“PHOENIX – During a news conference, Governor Doug Ducey announced that Arizona’s stay-at-home order will be extended to May 15, with modifications.

According to an executive order issued to amend the original stay-at-home order, officially titled as the ‘Stay home, Stay healthy, Stay connected’ policy, retailers not classified as an essential business may, starting May 4, operate through delivery service and other means that do not entail in-store sales.

On May 8, non-essential retailers can sell items to customers in-store.

Plans will also be announced next week on a return to dine-in operations for restaurants. Gov. Ducey did say during the news conference that in a best-case scenario, restaurants could reopen by May 12.

‘We will continue, in Arizona, to put public health first,’ Gov. Ducey said.

The executive order states no county, city, or town may issue orders, rules, or regulations that conflict with the executive order.

The Republican governor is holding the news conference just one day prior to the original expiration date of his stay-at-home order that started March 31.

Gov. Ducey said the return to normalcy will be gradual and phased in, based on CDC and health expert recommendations through May and June, and will balance public health and returning stronger.”

“Trump touts Payment Protection Plan to help small businesses, hints at possible payroll tax cut”

(From www.foxnew.com, written by Andrew O’Reilly)

White House advisers reportedly urge Trump to scale back presence at coronavirus task force briefings

“President Trump on Tuesday touted the effects of the Payment Protection Plan in keeping small businesses open during the coronavirus pandemic, saying that, since the PPP launched, the Small Business Administration processed as many loans over a two-week period as it has in 14 years.

‘That’s some record,’ Trump said during a news conference in the White House’s East Room. ‘Our swift actions supported or saved 30 million American jobs at least.’

Trump recently signed another stimulus package that injected $310 billion of loans after the original money ran short due to an overload of businesses applying for the relief.

The most recent package is meant to help small businesses retain workers or rehire those who they laid off in response to the virus outbreak. Restaurants, retailers, gyms and other businesses were forced to shut down to try to contain the virus’ spread, and other companies have seen a steep drop in revenue as customers stayed home or cut back their spending.”

“The U.S. Surgeon General on Friday reminded Americans to always consult with a health care provider before ‘administering any treatment [or] medication to yourself or a loved one.’ The recommendation came after President Trump during a White House coronavirus task force briefing Thursday appeared to suggest that light and disinfectants might have the potential to treat the coronavirus.

‘A reminder to all Americans- PLEASE always talk to your health provider first before administering any treatment/ medication to yourself or a loved one,’ it said on Twitter. ‘Your safety is paramount, and doctors and nurses [have] years of training to recommend what’s safe and effective.'”
