Shannon Redwing, 23, died when she was ejected from a white Mitsubishi sedan traveling westbound on U.S. 60 at milepost 258.6.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the woman is a Lakeside resident, however, her obituary names Concho as her residence.

The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to slide into the mountain cut. Redwing, a passenger, was ejected. She died at the scene, DPS spokesperson Bart Graves said.

The driver, James William Tinley, 25, of Lakeside, is under investigation for second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault because impairment is suspected.

Another passenger, William Tinley, 9 months, was admitted to Maricopa County Medical Center. Nicole Tinley, 6, was treated and released from Globe Hospital.
